#OnThisDay 1914 Second Battalion Royal Irish Regiment land in Boulogne. Three months later 2nd Batt is almost completely wiped out near Le Pilly during the Battle of La Bassée. Most of who survive are taken prisoner. #Ireland #History #WW1
