#OnThisDay 1972 Lt Cmdr Brett commissioned the L.E. Deirdre, the first of the 4 Emer Class ships in the Irish @naval_service. L.E. Deirdre was the first purposely built ship for the Naval service to patrol Ireland’s waters. L.E. Deirdre was built in Cork.
