#OnThisDay 1921 The Thompson sub-machine gun,(Tommy-Gun)made famous by Al Capone & Chicago gangsters, was used for the first time in combat ever by the IRA. They fired on a train coming through Drumcondra station in Dublin that was carrying British soldiers from the West Kent Regiment and injured three.
