#OnThisDay 1646 Owen Roe O’Neill defeated a Scottish Covenanter army under Robert Munro at the Battle of Benburb in Tyrone. O’Neill was the nephew of Hugh O’Neill. A final pike charge by the Irish caused the Scots to break & run, killing several thousand. #Ireland #History
