#OnThisDay 1920 The IRA attacked and burned much of Kilmallock RIC barracks in Limerick.
Volunteer Liam Scully (Left) from Kerry, was shot in the neck & died soon after.
Two RIC men; Kane & Norton were also killed in the attack.
Pic (right) shows the RIC survivors of the attack. They held out against overwhelming numbers for 6-7 hours before the IRA called off the attack. All RIC present were promoted.
