#OnThisDay 1805 Michael Doheny was born in Fethard Tipperary. After the 1848 Rebellion he fled to New York & in 1849 he was instrumental in forming the Irish-American 69th Infantry Regiment a.k.a. The Fightin 69th. This unit fought in all America’s wars (except Vietnam) & still exists today.
